Who is Amos Pewter?
Amos Pewter, one of the most highly visited craft shops in Nova Scotia, is synonymous with excellence in design and craftsmanship. The designs for our pewter gifts and keepsakes are inspired by nature and our beautiful seaside surroundings.
When was Amos established?
In April 1974, the Amos Pewter store and workshop was opened in Mahone Bay in a circa 1888 former boat building shop.
What to do when you visit Amos Pewter
Call ahead for a free-guided tour or enjoy an impromptu visit of our interpretive workshop. Visitors from around the world enjoy chatting with our craftspeople and learning how we make the award-winning pewter that we sell in our store. Take part in our hands-on experience where you will be able to finish your own pewter keepsake. Once you have visited Amos Pewter wander through the garden down to the shore. Watch the boats come and go and take a photo of Mahone Bay's famous Three Churches.
Where is Amos Pewter located?
Amos Pewter is located at 589 Main Street in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, just 50 minutes west of Halifax on Highway 103 (exit 10) or 2½ hours east of Yarmouth (exit 11).
Directions to get to Amos Pewter
Heading west from Halifax, take exit 10 on Highway 103 to Mahone Bay. You will quickly come to the intersection of Highway 3. Turn right and head west. Follow the water until you get to the monument at the centre of town. At the monument, turn left and continue approximately a block and a half along the water until you reach our bright teal green store on the left or water side of the street.
Heading east from Yarmouth, take exit 11 south to Blockhouse. At the four-way stop, turn left and head east on Highway 325 to Mahone Bay. Continue straight past the monument at the centre of town. Approximately a block and a half past the monument, you come to our bright teal coloured store on the left or water side of the street.
Heading north from Lunenburg, take Highway 3 to Mahone Bay. We are located approximately 2 blocks past the government wharf, on the right or water side of the street.
Free parking for customers of Amos Pewter is available behind our grape coloured building next door.
